China Glaze Side-Saddle

Ciao, ancora io. E ancora un altro smalto China Glaze, anche.
Oggi sono qui per parlarvi di Side-Saddle, dalla collezione Rodeo Diva di China Glaze dell' autunno 2008.
E poi ovviamente vi ammorberò con tonnellate di foto :D

Hi, me again. And a China Glaze polish again, too.
Today I'm here to review for you China Glaze's Side-Saddle from the fall 2008 Rodeo Diva Collection. And then I'll obviously post tons of photos :D

Così come Wagon Trail [che ho recensito qualche giorno fa] anche questo è un colore difficile da descrivere che : un base prugna scuro con tantissimi microbrillantini dorati/bronzei che lo rendono decisamente marroncino sotto alcuni tipi di luce.
La coprenza è buona, ho applicato due passate ed era già perfetto, così ho solo aggiunto una mano di top coat trasparente della Kiko.
Purtroppo quando ho realizzato questa manicure ero circondata dalla mia personale tribù felina, per cui se vedete peli bianchi sospetti e un certo qual numero di sbavature...sappiate che la colpa è di quei dolciosi dei miei quadrupedi che vengono a chiedere bacini e coccole proprio quando sono in difficoltà :D

As with Wagon Trail [which I reviewed some days ago] this is another hard to describe color and it works the same way: it has got a pretty dark plum base with lots of bronzy/golden shimmer that make it look definitely brownish in certain types of light.
The coverage is good, I applied two coats and it was already even so I only added a coat of a transparent top coat from Kiko [an italian brand you can find here].
Unluckily [or luckily...depending from your point of view] while I was painting my nails I was surrounded by my very personal feline tribe, so if you happen to detect some suspicious white hair and more than a few smears...just blame those lovely quadrupeds I coahabit with that always come asking for cuddles when I get to the delicate part :D

Come potete vedere, le foto scattate con luce naturale mostrano l'aspetto più violaceo&"prugnoso" di questo smalto, mentre in quelle dov'è esposto alla luce diretta del sole appare più marroncino. Per me rimane comunque meraviglioso in entrambe i modi :)

As you can see, the photos taken in natural light show the polish's most plummy/purply aspect, whereas in the ones shot in direct sunlight it appears to be more on the brownish side. In my opinion, it's marvelous both ways :)

Wagon Trail & other China Glaze oldies

Primo post serio e, come prevedibile, già parlo di smalti :)

Ieri un'amica [Graphie di Giare di Luce] mi ha portato gli smalti China Glaze che avevamo ordinato insieme qualche tempo fa e non ho resistito a provarne subito uno.

First post, first nail polish review -told you I was a bit of an addict- :)

Yesterday a friend of mine [Graphie from Giare di Luce] brought me the China Glaze polishes we ordered together some time ago and I couldn't resist immediately trying one on.

Gli smalti in questione sono:

Emerald Fitzgerald, Lemon Fizz, First Mate, Gussied up Green, Side Saddle e, last but not least, Wagon Trail che è quello che sto indossando adesso mentre scrivo.

Ormai sono tutti abbastanza vecchiotti, perché appartengono rispettivamente alle Collections: Vintage Vixen[autunno 2010], Up ad Away[primavera 2010], Anchors Away[primavera 2010] e Rodeo Diva[autunno 2008], ma devo dire che non sono affatto rimasta delusa dalla mia scelta.

The polishes I got are:

Emerald Fitzgerald, Lemon Fizz, First Mate, Gussied up Green, Side Saddle e, last but not least, Wagon Trail that is the one I'm wearing right now as I type.

By now they all are on the older side, since they are from the collections: Vintage Vixen[fall 2010], Up ad Away[spring 2010], Anchors Away[spring 2010] and Rodeo Diva[fall 2008], but I have to say that I am pretty happy with my choice.

Oggi vi parlerò nello specifico solo di Wagon Trail, visto che lo indosso, gli altri ve li proporrò nei prossimi giorni.

Today I'm going to talk to you only about Wagon Trail, since I'm wearing it, the others will be presented in posts to follow.

luce naturale / natural light

Wagon Trail è un colore davvero speciale e, insieme a First Mate, quello di cui sono più entusiasta: è un nero con forti riflessi dorati/bronzati che può sembrare verde oliva con alcuni tipi di luce. E' la nuance ideale per l'autunno, un colore caldo e avvolgente per una giornata fredda e uggiosa. Ecco, considerando il fatto che adesso siamo al 24 di maggio con un sole che spacca le pietre vi può lasciare intuire quanto mi debba avere convinto questo smalto per decidere di indossarlo ora :)

Wagon Trail is a very special color and, with First Mate, is the one I'm more enthusiast about: it's a black loaded with golden/bronze shimmer that looks olive green under some kind of light. It's ideal for fall, a warm color for a dull day. Well, considering the fact that today it's the 24th of may and outside the sun shines bright you might understand how much this polish should have convinced me to make me wear it now :)
